If you’re planning a trip with cheap Emirates flights Dubai or any other destination then understanding Emirates baggage allowance is very essential. Emirates Airlines offers generous allowances when it comes to baggage and if you’re a Skywards member then your membership tier can affect how much baggage you can claim and how much you can take complimentary. The Emirates Manage Booking from UK also provides baggage allowances for Emirates Skywards members and now passengers can take their extra luggage along them on their travel without too much expenses.

Emirates primarily uses two baggage concepts

There are two types of baggage concepts that Emirates use while calculating the weight limit for their passengers.
Weight Concept: This concept is applied to most of the countries outside the America. The passengers are allowed to base their total weight of all bags combined. There is no piece limit and you can bring as many bags as you want as long as the total weight stays within limit. If your ticket doesn’t mention the ‘number of pieces allowed’ then you’re traveling on weight concept.

Piece Concept: This rule is applied on flights to and from America and Africa. The passengers are allowed a number of pieces of checked baggage. Each piece should weigh 23 kg or 32kg, depending upon class. If all your bags are under this weight then you’re ready to go.

There are some important considerations to keep in mind for baggage issues.
Flydubai Flights: If you’re flying with FlyDubai flight then check their website for specific baggage policies and Skywards rewards too because the miles can apply but are not always identical to the Emirates flights.

Individual Bag Weight Limits: If your bag is above 32kg then even with extra allowance it cannot board and need to be repacked for safety reasons and other limitations.

Dimensions: The total dimensions for the checked baggage must not exceed 300 cm. Oversized bags can face rejection or additional charges.
Verify Your Allowance: Use the Emirates ‘manage my booking’ portal on the website to know about your allowance because it can vary with the Emirates skywards Miles rewards.

Excess Baggage: If your baggage exceeds the allowed weight limit or the number of pieces then Emirates offers to purchase excess baggage online at discounted rates.
