As global economies are becoming ever more interdependent, students graduating high school with global competence will have the skills needed to excel in modern workplaces. This includes being able to understand different cultures, collaborate on diverse teams and solve real-world issues effectively. Employers seek candidates who can collaborate across an increasingly diverse workforce and take risks when necessary – and Global Leaders Schools provide the perfect place for developing these essential abilities while deepening awareness of global issues.

Jasmine Trice, an FSU English Department alumna and accomplished scholar, has published 11 academic journal articles and essays pertaining to film and media culture studies. Her focus lies on feminist and decolonial approaches to film studies as well as transcultural collaboration; with particular interest given to Philippines-related research for her dissertation and teaching experiences while conducting that work in Manila.

Integrating global education in schools is a journey, requiring teachers to adopt new instructional strategies while building supportive communities of practice for success. The Global Leaders framework offers educators and schools a roadmap for successfully incorporating global education, including indicators for student progress and impact measurement. This empowers students, educators, and communities alike to become global citizens and work towards building an equitable future together.
